Wide Pore Hydrophillic Cation Exchange Resins

Mitsubishi Chemical has launched a new series of wide pore ion exchange resins, called ChromSpeedTM, for high performance protein and antibody separations. These resins are based on mono-dispersed high crosslinked polymethacrylic matrix, with a hydrophilic layer to achieve high throughput purification without surface interaction with the resin surface. These matrices are functionalized with either sulfonic acid or carboxymethyl to form strong acid and weak acid cation exchangers respectively with a sodium counter ion. These resins are easily scalable and non-compressible (rigid) with no volume change in buffer exchange. They are also characterized by their high capacity for polyclonal IgG.
